10 things you can do today to help stop global warming and save
the environment:

| |
1. Us a canvas bag at the
grocery store. Paper and plastic end up in the landfill and other places;
these products take time to break down and are not good for the environment.

2. Volunteer once a month to an organization that is helping
save the environment. You can find one in your area at http://www.volunteermatch.org.
This feels good, you meet new people and have fun. Community service
for the environment is a very positive conversation piece. |

3. Make an effort to get out and discover the outdoors and wildlife
as well as programs that are fighting for the cause. You will get
excited and talk about it to others, bringing them on board too.
Getting a group of people together to kayak, bird watch, or go hiking
is a wonderful experience. |

4. Be smart about septic systems
and make sure yours is running properly if you have one. Find out how
the breakdown process works, what to put in it and what not to put
it. Educate all users of the septic system. |

5 . Get smart about your garden and pest control. Use non-toxic
solutions when you buy garden products and use only organic plants.
Find out about deep mulch for your yard, which retains water for
your plants and reduces runoff. |
|

6. Try using a push lawn mower
to prevent pollution and increase your exercise. Or try a deep mulch
planting area that doesn't't need to be mowed. |

7. Water Conservation: Take shorter showers. Help the Salmon and other fresh and marine wildlife by keeping pollutants out of water and reducing your use. Put an eyedropper of food coloring in the back tank of your toilet. If it is leaking, the color will soon appear in the toilet bowl. This is expensive for you and the environment. |

8. Wash your car on the lawn to keep pollutants from going in the storm drain, or use a 'Green' car wash that recycles its water. |

9. Cut up the plastic rings that hold cans or bottles together when
you buy a beverage six pack. If these get into the water system, animals
get trapped in them, sometimes for life and sometimes killing them.
Or avoid purchasing the plastic holders all together, they could take
400 years to break down (Mote
